Description
The volume contains terriers of lands belonging to the Vicars Choral; surveys of Broadwinsor [Broadwindsor], Hanney, Orcheston St George, Laverstock and Stot[t]ingway; minutes of a meeting dated 1759 to elect a new Procurator; memo concerning Procurators' accounts; and Procurator's accounts for 1759. There is a loose page at the front headed 'In Orcheston Field, Aug[ust] 23rd 1783.' At the other end of the book, which appears to be titled 'Laymen's Houses 1757' (the writing is faded), there is a list of prebendaries appointed to each vicar, various accounts and memos. A note states that 'The 4 first pages in this Book are extracts taken out of Mr Whitears little Mem[orandum] book by the late Rev[erend] Mr Tho[mas] Naish - Procurat[or] for about 20 years. - and The Order for settling the fees, for drawing and ent[e]ring the Leases, as on [the] opposite p[age] is Mr Naish's own handwriting.' There is a loose 'List of Property belonging to the Vicars' inserted at the back of the volume. On the back inside cover it is stated that this volume was exhibited on 19 Dec 1811 in chancery.
