Counterpart Lease of a Messuage or Tenement and Garden Situated in the Close Salisbury from the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars to the Reverend George Lewes Benson

Lease between the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars of the Cathedral Church of Sarum on the one part and the Reverend George Lewes Benson of the Close of New Sarum Clerk on the other part. The said Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars lease to the said George Lewes Benson the messuage or tenement with the gardens and appurtenances within the Close of the Canons fronting on the south to the King's highway within the Close which leads westward towards the Church and abuts on the north upon the walls of the Close to have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 20 shillings and the further yearly sum of 3 pounds for land tax to be paid at the 4 feasts of the year.
