Description

Indenture made between Frances Stevens of the Close widow on the one part and Anna Maria Taylor of the Close spinster on the other part. An indenture dated 28 Oct 1856 (CO/VC/4/3/16/2) was made between the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars and the Reverend George Lewes Benson for a messuage or garden plot. By an indenture dated 19 Jun 1867 between William Henry Lipscomb and Richard Munkhouse Wilson on the one part and Frances Stevens on the other part (CO/VC/4/3/16/7) the premises became vested in Frances Stevens. By an Order of Her Majesty the Queen in Council dated 14 May 1868 the fee simple and inheritance of the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars of and in the premises became vested in the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England for the purposes of the Acts of Parliament. The licence of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners was obtained (CO/VC/4/3/16/10) to assign the premises unto Anna Maria Taylor. Anna Maria Taylor agrees to pay the yearly rents and perform the covenants and conditions contained in the same indenture. This document is annotated in pencil and several parts are crossed out. £600 consideration money was paid by Anna Maria Taylor to Frances Stevens. The witnesses were [B] A Wilson, solicitor in Salisbury, and Thomas Brodrick, solicitor in Salisbury.
