Description
Indenture made between Edward Walter Hamilton of Park Lane Chambers Park Lane in the County of Middlesex and Ernest Kingscote of Salisbury on the one part and Louisa Harriet Eyre Purvis of Ferndale Wilton Road in Salisbury widow on the other part. An indenture dated 28 October 1856 (CO/VC/4/3/16/2) was made between the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars and the Reverend George Lewes Benson of the Close for a messuage and garden plot. By an indenture dated 29 Sep 1876 (CO/VC/4/3/16/11) between Frances Stevens and Anna Maria Taylor the premises became vested in Anna Maria Taylor for the reside of the term of 40 years. Anna Maria Taylor made her will dated 7 Oct 1861 and appointed her brother in law Edward Mayne of Tixall Lodge in the county of Stafford and Robert Dawson Mayne of Chester Square Belgravia as her executors. She died on 19 January 1891 and by virtue of an Order of Her Majesty the Queen in Council dated 14 May 1868 the fee simple and inheritance of and in the premises became vested in the Ecclesiastical Commissioners. Louisa Harriet Ere Purvis has with the licence of the Ecclesiastical Commissioners agreed with Edward Walker Hamilton and Ernest Kingscote for the purchase of the premises at the price of £155, to have and to hold for the residue of the term of 40 years. The witnesses are William [?Spi..fe.] of Park Lane valet, Daniel Down of Salisbury groom, and John L[....] verger of Salisbury Cathedral.
