Description

Licence to Assign, which refers to the indenture of lease dated 28 Oct 1856 (CO/VC/4/3/16/2) for a messuage and garden bounded on the east with a tenement in the occupation of James Thomas Biddlecombe and the highway on the south part. George Lewes Benson published his last will and testament dated 11 Sep 1858 and bequeathed to his daughter Sarah Anne Benson his leasehold dwelling house. He died on 24 Nov 1862. Sarah Anne Benson published her will dated 13 May 1863 and bequeathed the premises to her brother Edmund George Benson and died on 6 Dec 1864. Edmund George Benson agreed with Mary Richardson for the sale to her of the premises and applied to the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars for their consent to enable him to assign the lease and the premises for the remainder of the term of 40 years which they have agreed to do. The said Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars grant to Edmund George Benson power to transfer the premises to the said Mary Richardson.
