Description

Licence to Assign, which refers to the indenture of lease dated 28 Oct 1856 (CO/VC/4/3/16/2) for a messuage and garden bounded on the east with a tenement in the occupation of James Thomas Biddlecombe and the highway on the south part. It then refers to the indenture dated 31 January 1865 (CO/VC/4/3/16/5) in which the premises were assigned to Mary Richardson for the remainder of the term. Mary Richardson published her will dated 4 August 1866, appointed William Henry Lipscomb of Wyke near Winchester and Richard Munkhouse Wilson of Salisbury her executors, and died on 5 Aug. William Henry Lipscomb and Richard Munkhouse Wilson have agreed with Frances Stevens of Haslemere in Surrey the sale to her of the premises for the remainder of the term of 40 years and have applied to the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars for their consent in writing, which the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars have agreed to do. By this licence they grant authority to assign transfer to Frances Stevens.
