Description
Lease between the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars of the Cathedral Church of Sarum on the one part and Walter Kerr [Hamilton] Lord Bishop of Sarum on the other part. The Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars lease to the said Walter Kerr the messuage or tenement court and garden, which had the highway leading from St Ann's Gate towards the Church on the south part and the Close Wall on the north part (a long description of the property follows), to have and to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 13 shillings and 4 pence for the first premises and 17 shillings for the second, and 12 shillings for land tax to be paid at the 4 feasts of the year. The lease is on two sheets and includes a large coloured plan of the property. The lease was signed, sealed and delivered by Walter Kerr in the presence of Thomas Brodrick of Salisbury.
