Description

Counterpart of a lease between the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars of the Cathedral Church of Sarum on the one part and Charlotte Kneller and Kitty Kneller of the Close spinsters on the other part. The Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars lease to the said Charlotte and Kitty Kneller their garden or orchard formerly two plots of ground between the subdean's house on the east, the highway leading from St Ann's Gate on the south part and the Close wall on the north part, to have ad to hold for 40 years. The annual rent was 17 shillings to be paid at the 4 feasts of the year. 'In the Close. No. 13.' is written on the item (in red ink). This item was previously enclosed within CO/VC/4/3/2/4.
