Description
This is one of 4 letters (not previously catalogued) found enclosed in CO/VC/4/3/3/8, which are about the house (Close No 1) bequeathed in trust to Peregrine Bingham by Charlotte Poore. Letter to D Whitmarsh of Salisbury from [W] Salmon of Devizes 're Mrs C[harlotte] Poore Dec[eased]. House held under the Vicars.' The item is marked 'Close No 1.' Salmon writes that Mrs Poore died on 24 March [1829] and names her executors as the Reverend Nathaniel Templeman and Peter [Erle]. He states that the house in the Close is bequeathed to P[eregrine] Bingham the barrister in trust, and asks Whitmarsh to instruct someone to value it and send the appraisement to him as soon as possible.
