Description
The text of this item is as follows: 'Whereas [the] Viccars Chorall were required by [the] R[ight] R[everend] [the] L[ord] B[ishop] of [the] Cathedrall Church of Sarum, [and] [the] Deane and Chapter of [the] same, to exhibit a Coppy of [their] Leases, to some one of them before the sealing of them, to [the] intent that [the] good of succession might be alwaies observed by them: to which [the] Viccars answered that they conceived it an impeachment of their Charter so to do. It is therefore thought sufficient, that [the] s[aid] Viccars shall take an oath for [the] observation of [the] rules underwritten: which s[aid] oath shall be administered to [the] succeeding Viccars at [the] [?2nd] Admission.'
