Description
A list of "The Names of the Jurors" in a case brought by Peter Bathurst, Esquire, against Charles Fielder, Defendant, in a Plea of Trespass.
Fifty-five names are listed, grouped against the names of eight Bailiffs. The name of "Charles Fielder, of Sparsholt, Yeoman", number 23 on the list, is highlighted, presumably indicating an objection (might it be the Defendant himself, or a relative?).
At the foot of the document: "By Pledges, John Doe and Richard Roe. Henry Bonham, Esquire, Sheriff".
There is no date on the document. A Peter Bathurst (1723-1801) was the son of the Peter Bathurst, sometime MP for Salisbury, for whom Clarendon Park was built; one Hnery Bonham (1749-1800) was High Sheriff of Hampshire, 1794-1795.
