Volume 1 of extracts relating to individuals resident in, or connected with, Dorset or Somerset. These extracts are taken from original registers held with the Corporation of Salisbury archives. An inscription at the from of the volume reads 'J.J. Hammond Mitre House Salisbury': it is possible that the transcripts of extracts recorded in this volume and the following two volumes were made by him. Hammond was at one time Chapter Clerk at Salisbury Cathedral but there is no evidence to indicate that these extracts were compiled by him in connection with that post. There is an index of names and places at the front of the volume together with lists of clerks and mayors. Includes three loose sheets.
