Then belonged to Rev Wm Kingsbury MA also minister there circa 1790-1810, then to Thomas Kingsbury Esq, then to Rev Canon T L Kingsbury'. An older inscription on the front of what appears to have been the original flyleaf (before rebinding) reads 'This Book is the property of Mr Wm Kingsbury of Southampton Being presented to him by Sam Rollerston Esq 1780'. Above this inscription is a list of children born between 1733 and 1740. At the beginning is an index or list to 'Mr Baxters' Works'. Page two has the inscription 'Written by Mr Francis of Southampton'. Following is; a form of index to the Bible with references to special verses within Old Testament books; a list of books lent - giving author and title; further Biblical indexes; note concerning the payment to the postmaster Midsummer 1727; an epigram; note 'I began my ministry with Mr Foxton's Chapel in London and 'The Providence of God brought me safely to the people of Southampton Aug 19 1726'; 'Dr John Owens' 12 arguments against the Liturgy; 'The 148th psalm paraphrased by the Earl of Proscolymon [?]; notes on the book of Genesis by Rev [?]Harry Francis; 'Lessons from Genesis' in another person's hand. Filed at the front of the book are 35 folios - of 'Search after the Protestants Church and Faith' - the origin of these is unkown also whether they were originally connected with this commonplace book and its owners.
