Description
This journal records John Symonds last tour of Italy. It includes his journey from Brighton through Normandy, France and Germany ending at Venice on the 21st Dec 1769. He then continues his journey in May 1770 from Venice ending in August at Dijon in Southern France. Symonds describes his journeys and includes observations on the culture, agriculture and economy. There are also drawings throughout, including one of a Tuscan farmhouse and a sickle. Towards the back of the book is the contents pages.
