Includes: a transcript of previous surveys of the fabric of the spire and rest of the Cathedral, including Notes on the Spire dated 1739 copied from Reports of Thomas Hutchens; a transcript of a survey of the fabric of the whole Cathedral taken in 1691 by Thomas Naish, clerk of works, together with cost of repairs: notes on these reports presumably made by Fisher; notes also taken from the fabric accounts and notes and reports and observations regarding the height of the water table; copies of letters from Fisher including one relating to a well in the Close and one concerning the lightening conductor. Contains six loose items including a letter from Thomas Hutchens to Fisher dated 13th April 1864 concerning the spire and a bill from Thomas Hutchens for stone taken out of the blank windows of the south side of the Tower. Inscribed inside front cover "The Property of F R Fisher High Street, Salisbury".
