Description
Thomas Hyde's surrender of the office of Clerk of the Fabric following the death of William Pickhaver (also Clerk), 'for diverse good causes [and] [considerations]'. A transcription is available at T:\Library & Archive\Transcriptions. The original seal is missing. The bottom of the document is signed by Thomas Hyde. The reverse is marked, 'Signed sealed and Deliv[er]ed in the presence of […] [?William] Sackler Robert Seward'; 'Mr Hides surrender'; and 'surrender by Thomas Hyde of the office of Clerk of the Works 6 Dec. 1637.' In the previous paper catalogue, the item was listed under Press 1, however a note with the item stated that it was from Press 5.
