Description

Letters Patent of Edward I for a fine of 200 marks paid to him by the Chapter. The King grants that the Chapter shall have custody of the temporalities of the bishopric during a vacancy. In addition during such a vacancy the Chapter shall pay into the exchequer £1200, if it lasts a whole year, and if it lasts less or more, than proportionate sums. Saving to the King and his heirs knights' fees, advowsons of churches, wards, reliefs and eschaets. Given at Westminster.
