Description

Record of monies received via donation boxes in the Cathedral for the following: Fabric Fund, Salisbury Infirmary, George Herbert Memorial Window,and Cathedral War Memorial. All pages of entries are headed with the note "Extracted from Canons Book." Marginal notes include references to organ repairs and damaged caused by floods (1915), fees received from visitors (1919-1921), and Spire Appeal (1922). Specific notes include: "9th Aug 1922 1st week opened to Visitors free" and "The offertory on Armistice Day 1919 amounting to £25.12.8 was given to the Infirmary." Pages in the second half of the volume are used to record National Insurance contributions for Cathedral staff: F J Pearce (verger), W J Thorne (verger), Freemantle (verger), 1912-1921. Much of the volume is unused.
