Description

There are five separate items in total. (1) A written record of Roger Townsend's involvement in the foundation of Salisbury Festival, Salisbury Arts Centre and the building of the new Playhouse theatre covering the 1970s. (2) A catalogue from an exhibition in 2011 'Caught in the Act, 38 Years of Festival Photographs' featuring photographs of some performers at the Festival taken over 38 years by Roger Elliott (Staff Photographer of the Salisbury Journal). (3) Cd of Voices from No Man's Land (a commemoration of the centenary of the Christmas Truce of 1914 in which Roger Townsend sang and part narrated). (4) A facsimile of a presentation given to Roger on his final retirement from the Festival Board after 32 years. (5) An audio interview of Roger Townsend describing his involvement with the arts in Salisbury over 45 years and is thoughts on the proposed merger of the Festival , Arts Centre and Playhouse as required by Arts Council England in 2017 (WAV file, MP3 file each on CD and on the archive hard drive.
