Description
A purpose-made scrap-book covered in brown paper and containing press-cuttings, post cards, greetings cards and other illustrations together with typed notes about the history, features and contents of the Cathedral and people associated with it.
A typed label affixed to the front cover reads, " SALISBURY CATHEDRAL. 'Where the highest spire in England soars majestically into space'".
A note inserted at the back of the book reads, "The Scrap Book was compiled bu MOLLIE REDFERN, and after her death in the Autumn of 1982 it was given to the Cathedral Archives".
Principal topics referred to include:
the death of Dr Joseph Edward Fison, 74th Bishop of Salisbury (item dated 2 Jul 1972);
the "bumping" of choristers;
the Chapter House and its sculptures;
stained glass;
the medieval clock;
