Description
A purpose-made scrap-book with an abstract coloured design on the cover with a banner heading, "Salisbury Cathedral Scrapbook".
The book contains mainly press-cuttings with some illustrations and material from other printed sources, all relating to the history, features and contents of the Cathedral and to people associated with it.
Contents and principal topics referred to include:
the installation of Henry Charles Robins as Dean of Salisbury (1949);
the installation of Robert Hamilton Moberley as Dean of Salisbury (1952);
the retirement of Kenneth Haworth and appointment of William Fenton Morley as Dean of Salisbury (1971);
an illustrated article by Geoffrey Grigson, introducing a radio portrait of Salisbury Cathedral (1955);
the removal of Sir George Gilbert Scott's choir screen (1959) and laying of a new Choir pavement (early 1960s);
the installation of a bronze sculpture, "Crucifixion", by Barbara Hepworth;
