Description
A documentary on Salisbury Cathedral girl and boy choristers produced in the wake of the serialisation of The Choir by Joanna Trollope on BBC 1. Includes interviews with the following choristers and staff: Richard Norman (Probationer) Jessica Townsend (Dean's Chorister), William Ings (Bishop's Chorister), Amy Carson (Senior Chorister), Sophie Gilbey (Junior Chorister), Barnaby Crocker (Vestry Monitor), Richard Seal (Organist and Master of the Choir), Christopher Helyer (Cathedral School Headmaster), Hugh Dickinson (Dean of Salisbury), Helen Helyer (Girls Housemistress), David Halls (Assistant Organist), and Jeremy Davies (Canon Presentor). Depicts chorister life at the Cathedral School and the experience of singing in the choir. Includes: practices in the song room, a cross country run around Old Sarum, lessons, the lay vicars, services in the Quire, voice trials, a birthday party at MacDonalds, the School Chapel, and the Ash Wednesday service.
