Description
The item is difficult to read but appears to be a citation mandate from John Gordon the Dean of Salisbury, possibly for prebendaries listed to pay towards the king's visit [King James I]. The prebendaries are from Ilfracombe ([William] Camden), Grantham Australis ([William] Barsdale [Barkesdale]) and Chesunbury [Chisenbury] and Chute ([Edward] Hutchins), with payments next to their names. Signed 'Andreas Mortimer', Chapter Clerk. This was previously in a bundle of 'very miscellaneous papers, decayed and mutilated'.
