Description

Letter addressed to "Thomas Froome Esq at his House In Salisbury" from William Parry, Easton Grey. "We make no doubt of meeting with candid treatment in our renewal with Mr Mulso [John Mulso, holder of the Prebend of Alton Australis, 1758-1791], but he, or myself are mistaken in the value of the Austreal Prebendal Estate". "The Estate . . . hath been a very unfortunate one, 'tis very lately since it was wholy purchased of Dr Gilbert [Robert Gilbert holder of the Prebend of Alton Australis from 1749 until 1753]; That transaction was a very memorable one, & to which I dare say you was no Stranger . . . there is no doubt but the Doctor made himself fully acquainted with the value of it. He is a very worthy man, & extreamly capable of setting tis matter on a fair footing, if Mr Muslo should approve of cinsulting him". With a summary by Penelope Rundle, Archive Volunteer, late 2010s.
