17th-century sprinkled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with gilt fillets forming two concentric rectangular frames, with gilt stamps at inner and outer corners of inner frame; the leather within the inner frame has been stained; spine with four raised bands, and gilt fillets and stamps; gilt roll around board edges; text block edges gilded; marbled endleaves; evidence of chain-plate at fore-edge of lower board.
