17th-century brown calf over paper boards; repaired 1939 (and possibly earlier?); sewn on 5 supports; boards decorated with gilt fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with gilt wreath-shaped centrepiece; spine (repaired) with four raised bands (do not line up with sewing supports); author, title, and date in gilt on spine; text block edges stained red; note on bookplate: "Repaired May 1939".
