17th-century sprinkled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with additional vertical blind fillets towards spine; spine with four raised bands, blind and gilt fillets; leather spine label with author and title; date 1604 in gilt at tail of spine; gilt fillet around board edges; text block edges heavily sprinkled red; printed paper waste used as endleaf guards.
