17th-century sprinkled brown calf over paper boards; sewn on four supports; boards decorated with blind fillets forming rectangular frame towards perimeter of boards, with additional vertical blind fillets at spine; spine with four raised bands, and blind fillets and hatching; leather spine label with author and title; date 1655 in gilt at tail of spine; blind hatching (two directions) on head- and tail-edges of boards, adjacent to spine.
