Description
Charter of Stephen in which he quitclaims the lands belonging to the canons of Salisbury from Danegeld; He grants and confirms to them all the churches which Roger Bishop of Salisbury gave to the said church in augmentation of the prebends and parsonages of the said church, viz. the churches of Odiham, Mere, Westbury, Figheldean, Alderbury, Hurstbourne and Burbage; and he gives them these for the salvation of his soul and of the souls of his ancestors. Witnesses: Bishop of Hereford, the Earl of Mell' [Mell'ort?], Philip the Chancellor, Roger de Fisc', [Robert de Ver?], William Mart', Richard de [Aquilla], Ing' de Sai, Roger [de Toeni], - [de Ponte Arch'], Fulc de Oilli.
