Description
Papers relating to the planning of and arrangements for "A Wiltshire County Service of Thanksgiving to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of the Accession to the Throne of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II" held at Salisbury Cathedral on 2 June 2002 in the presence of Their Royal Highnesses The Earl and Countess of Wessex:
1. Facsimily [sic] Transmission dated 28 May 2003 from Chris Crooks, Head Verger, to Sir Maurice Johnston, Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire. This one document does not relate to the 2 June 2002 Service commemorating the Queen's Accession, but to the Service on 1 June 2003 commemorating the Coronation. The Head Verger thanks the Lord Lieutenant for agreeing to read a lesson at the service and gives practical details about attendance.
2. Vestry Checklist. Undated general planning document.
3. "Notes on a meeting held on 19 April 2002 for Security Planning Meeting for Golden Jubilee Service to be held on 2 June 2002". Typrewritten with manuscript annotations.
4. HM Queen Elizabeth's Golden Jubilee Service attended by T.R.H. The Earl & Countess of Wessex 2nd June 2002: Cathedral Timetable. Draft 5, 29 May 2002. Typewritten and printed (on yellow paper) versions. Covers the week-end of 1-2 June. With an "Important message from the Police Search Team".
5. Admission Card or ticket for the Service, with a sheet of information about parking, access, seating and timings.
6. The printed Order of Service.
7. Salisbury Cathedral Golden Jubilee Service 2 June 2002, 3.00pm Rubrics.
8. Memorandum dated 17 December 2001 from the Chapter Clerk, Kit Owen, to various Cathedral staff, copied to the Lord Lieutenant's Office, attaching Notes of a Meeting held at the Cathedral on 12 December 2001. The meeting was "to establish a framework" for the Service.

14. Printed version of an email dated 10 April 2002 from Chris Crooks, Head Verger, about "the various logistical, artistic and liturgical problems" associated with the Service.
15. Copy letter dated 15 May 2002 from Andrew Robertson, Head of Buildings and Estate, to Mr B Pritchard, Clerk to the Mayor & Charter Trustees, thanking the Mayor and Charter Trustees for arranging for the repair and refurbishment of the Civic Mace stand at no cost to the Cathedral.
16. Printed plan of the Spire Crossing area showing the positions of the "Podium For Pageant", the Cathedral Choir "in mobile stalls" and seating for TRH The Earl & Countess of Wessex, the Lord Lieutenant and Lady Johnstone, and Cathedral dignitaries.
17.
