Description
Covering letter from the Crown Office, House of Lords, dated 4 October 1993 enclosing The Queen's Letters Patent containing Her Majesty's Conge d'Elire for the election of a Bishop of Salisbury, together with Her Majesty's Letter Missive.
There is also a handwritten note dated 27 May 1994 by the then Librarian and Keeper of the Muniments, Suzanne Eward, recording a technical error in the Conge d'Elire and Letter Missive which state that the See of Salisbury was "void and destitute of the solace of a Pastor" on 4 October 1993, whereas the resignation of the incumbent Bishop, John Austin Baker, did not take effect until 31 October 1993.
