Letter from P[eter] Mews [Archdeacon of Berks] to [Ralph] Brideoake Dean of Salisbury in which he writes that he is unable to attend Chapter due to 'severall Affaires' which cannot be deferred. He hopes that this will be approved as a reasonable cause of absence, and states that he sent a proxy to Mr Kent, 'but lest [that] should miscarry have sent a second...' The letter closes with some personal comments ('I am glad to heare [that] Dyck is a Fisher and Ralph a Songster...'. From Oxford.
