Description

Indenture made between John Gey of Tilshead also 'Tislhead' in the county of Wiltshire yeoman on the first part, Steven Gey of Whaley [Whalley] in the county of Lancaster [Lancashire] clerk and nephew of the said John Gey on the second part and William Baxter of [Rus]hall in the county of Wiltshire clerk and Gyles [Giles] Thorneburgh [Thornburgh] of Orcheston St Mary in the county of Wiltshire clerk on the third part. The said John Gey gives, grants, bargains, sells, aliens, enfeoffs and confirms unto the said William Baxter and Giles Thornburgh and their heirs a messuage and tenement, two yard lands and premises with the appurtenances in Tilshead also 'Tislehead' purchased of Robert Lord Cecill [Cecil] and now or late in the tenure of John Gey, and all that other messuage and tenement, two yard lands and premises with the appurtenances in Tilshead purchased of Francis Meriwether and William Shergoll [Shergold] and now or late in the tenure of John Gey, and all houses, buildings, orchard, gardens, pastures, feedings, lands and hereditaments etc. To have and to hold forever. There is a memorandum on the back that on the same day quiet and peaceable possession, livery and seisin of the premises was granted by John Gey to William Baxter and Giles Thornburgh. Sealed and delivered in the presence of Anthony Delacourt, Roger Dorchester and John Randall. A note was attached (pin now removed) stating that £100 was received by John Gey.
