Description
Indenture made between Joseph Sager Clerk and Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers and the Dean and Chapter of the one part and John Wise of Tilshed or Tilshead in the county of Wiltshire yeoman of the other part. The said Master and Dean and Chapter grant unto the said John Wise their piece or parcel of ground containing about 7 or 8 lugg in Tilshead bounded with the Street on the north, on the south with the South Farm Close, on the west by Giles Alexander's tenement and on the east with John George's close, which said piece or parcel of ground is now in the possession of John Wise. To have and to hold the piece or parcel of ground with the appurtenances for and during the natural lives of Solomon Wise son of John Wise now 12 years old, David Wise another son of John Wise now 6 years old, and Job Wise another son of John Wise now 4 years old and for and during the natural life of the longest liver of them. The annual rent was 6 pence on the Feast of St Michael. Signed, sealed and delivered by Joseph Sager being first stamped in the presence of Arthur Thomas and Thomas Baden. 'John Wises Lease' is written on the back.
