Memorandum of Agreement Between Hugh Wynn and the Dean and Chapter and Thomas and William Lawes

Memorandum stating that it is agreed between Dr Hugh Wynn [Wynne] Master Warden or Governor of the Choristers on behalf of himself and the Dean and Chapter, and Thomas Lawes of Tilshead in the county of Wiltshire yeoman and William Lawes his son, that the said Master and Dean and Chapter shall let their messuages, farm and lands with the appurtenances in Tilshead as was leased to James Wadhams and are now occupied by William Wadhams his son (except all trees growing on the premises and also such lands as were excepted and the quitrents) for 12 years under the yearly rent of £43 10s and £10 per acre of rent for meadow or pasture ground (some further terms). The landlords are to allow land taxes out of the rents and the tenants to pay all other rates and taxes and to keep the premises in tenantable repair. All this they [agree unto] and [that] leases agreeable to this contract shall be soon prepared which shall be executed by and between the parties.
