Typed paper in the form of a letter of 34 pages from Christopher Wordsworth to Rev Canon Edward Arthur Down, Secretary to the Joint Committee of the Convocation of the Province of Canterbury upon Crown Nominations to Ecclesiastical Offices.
The letter states that it is written at the request of Rev Charles Myers, Canon and Sub-Dean of Salisbury, in answer to questions put to him by Edward Down on the procedure governing thr elections to the Bishopric of Salisbury. In answer to such questions the letter recites mainly the procedure adopted in 1911 when Frederick Ridgeway was elected, with some other historical references (pp.1-13). It then includes a section headed Historical Notes of some Early Elections of Bishops of Sarum (pp.14-34).
