Description
A handwritten draft translation of the 1227 City of Salisbury charter issued by Henry III in 1227. At the end there are some notes explaining different terms in the text. The hand of the translation (and notes) is unknown but there are annotations in Christopher Wordsworth's hand. together with a note,,dated April 1894, concerning the wishes of Bishop John Wordsworth regarding the unification of the clergy with the citizens of Salisbury, together with a very short prayer.
