Description

An inscription written on the inside cover of the book reads: 'Chancellor's Lectures Feb 1918. Mr Wordsworth purposes to give two lectures in the Morning Chapel of Salisbury Cathedral Church: 1. On the Consecration Crosses Monday Feb 4th at 3pm. 2. On the 101st Psalm Monday Feb 11th at 3pm 1918. Pasted into the book between the texts of the two lectures are a printed list of the altars and chapels at Salisbury together with an annotated diagram of the side altars, chapels and consecration crosses dated 1897/1918. The text of the second lecture 'Psalm 101' starts on page 50 - it is subtitled 'The Conflict of Virtues Triumphing over Vices.'
