Description

Fifty three items, with paper sleeve marked 'Bills 1793' (other annotations). Includes receipts and bills (thread holding them together still intact) for: supplies; lead, stone (?and chocolate); silk, curtains, mats etc; mops, broom etc; trees; bell rope; rent; coal; salary due to the Clerk of the Cathedral; other salaries; garden spade and scythe stone; braziers; care of the communion linen; salary for the Sexton; repairing the clock; making a sconce; organist's salary; payment due to the Vicar; altarist money; blowing the organ; advertising, book, printing; tenths. Other receipts and bills for: iron-work and valuing buildings (including the belfry); labour and materials; timber; repairs and plastering. Also an 'inventory of things in Morris' workshop' and a page of accounts with Collins and Co. These vouchers are rather mixed, and from this point onwards (until about 1805) are in a different format than pre 1789, being apparently less organised (perhaps due to the change in Clerk).
