Description

An underlease made between the Canon Precentor (The Master Warden or Governor of The Choristers), the Dean and Chapter and Wiltshire County Council for a strip of land in the Bishop's Palace Grounds for the use of Bishop Wordsworth's School. Signed by the Chapter Clerk and the Reverend William Harold Ferguson. Includes a plan. A later note on the front states 'Terminated' and the lease is stamped 'Recorded in the books of the Ministry of Education under Section 87 (3) of the Education Act 1944' with the signature of R J Telling and dated 2nd July 1947. Lease drawn up by Jonas and Parker, 6 The Close, Salisbury. The accompanying draft lease is annotated and also includes a plan.
