Includes a diary partially completed with the following types of information: type and times of services with names of preachers; 27 Jan Lady Ellen [G?] buried in the cloister; 19 Feb 'The Reverend Canon Francis Lear (late Archdeacon of Sarum) passed to his rest at 3pm in his 91st year the bell tolled for half an hour'; 23 Feb Archdeacon Lear's funeral; 9 Jun 'Dedication of the Bishop Wordsworth Memorial by the Archbishop of Canterbury (list of Bishops in attendance follows). The Archbishop gave an address after the dedication of the memorial from the Nave pulpit'; 9 Aug The afternoon service observed as an act of an intercession for those engaged in war. Special form of service used. The Dean took the intercessions from the nave pulpit. Enormous congregation. The Mayor and Corporation attended; 21 Aug Day of supplication for our sailors and soldiers engaged in war in Europe; 29 Aug Twelve o'clock intercession for those engaged in war takes the place of usual intercessions until further notice; 8 Oct, 15 Oct, 22 Oct chancellor's lectures; 19 Nov memorial service for the late Lord Roberts 'The General in Command and staff about 500. Soldiers Canadians etc Mayor and Corporation attended the service'. 29 Nov alms throughout the day for the Bishops Fund for the Welfare of Soldiers; 12 Dec Confirmation after the 3rd Collect at Evensong soldiers, artillery men and Canadians confirmed in the Choir;25 Dec morning alms for St Michael's House. Noted in 'Cash Account' 10 Jan 1915 'All services held in the choir the Nave being still very damp'; congregation numbers at specific services during January and until 13 February and names of preachers.'
