Title
Commutation of Estates Belonging to the Vicars Choral to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners
Description
Material relating to the transfer of Vicars Choral lands and hereditaments to the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England, in lieu of which they would receive an annual payment of £960. A letter in CO/VC/4/5/1 states that the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England provisionally agreed with the Vicars for a transfer of their emoluments to the Commissioners as from Lady Day 1867. On 14 May 1868 by an Order of Her Majesty the Queen in Council the property of the Procurator and Commonalty of Vicars became vested in the Ecclesiastical Commissioners for England (see CO/VC/4/3/16/11).
